Famous Interior Designers

I chose Thad Hayes to research as my famous interior designer. I like that Hayes does a modern look of interior designing. He does not have bold colors that are overwhelming, but it looks nice and well put together. I also like how the relationships with his clients are important to him. All clients should feel special, and feel like they are getting the attention they need.
Hayes has his own company called Thad Hayes. Hayes is still in business today. Hayes attended Louisiana State University School of Environmental Design. He practiced his landscaping architecture techniques New York City, and then studied at Parsons School of Design. There he learned about interior design and really got his career rolling. Before he started his own business, he worked at Bray-Schaible Design in 1982, and then later on developed his own business a couple years later in 1985. Thad Hayes was honored one of the “AD 100” and was named one of the “Deans of Design” by Arquitectural Digest Magazine. Thads work is simple and modern but very unique. He does not have a lot of “poppy” colors which is nice; it’s very calm and soothing. Three projects he has done in the past are a living room called, 5th Avenue Residence, a dining room that’s called, Central Park West Residence, and a landscape of outside a house called, Wainscot Residence. I really like the space and unity he uses in each kind of work he does, even if they are warm colors with no bold/bright color. There is always some kind of object or the emphasis in the room and it looks really nice. This living room doesn’t have a specific name, but it is a Long-Island Beach House, that Thad Hayes designed. It was designed in April 2009.

About Me!

Hi bloggers! I’m Rachel Wade! I am currently in 10th grade. I am now in functional art: interior design. I really like it so far, and I am glad I chose to take it. I have a twin and a younger sister. I like to cheer, ski, and just hang out with my friends. I used to do gymnastics for about 10 years. After high school, I'm not sure what college I want to go to yet exactly, but I know I want to major in something with business management, or forensics. I don’t exactly have a favorite artist, but I like the abstract kind of art work, with a lot of different colors. My goal for this blog is to find out new things about different artists, and to display my artwork and get feedback.

Powerpoint Questions

1.  A scale model is a representation or copy of a object that is larger or smaller than the actual size of the object seen.

2. The two types of scale models are the study/working models and the presenation/finished models.

3. The advantages of working with scale models are when reviewing and studying your floor plan, the elevations can be moved and taped back on in the right place. Also it can be taken apart when done with the project and lay flat so it doesn't get ruined. The limitations of scale models are that it does not show details on the floor plan as well from what is seen on presentation models. And they are less realistic in terms of the spacing of furniture.

5. We will be making 2 separate scale models of a certain part of our apartments. One will be a working model of your entire apartment and the other one will be a presentation model of 2 or 3 rooms of your apartment.
